We are involved in some great outreach opportunities: Click buttons to learn more!
Safe Harbor Outreach seeks to take the borders of the church outside of the four walls of the building, through community programs and events. We connect people in the community with church members for one on one fellowship. Through our programs and events we can reach people outside the four walls and expose them to the Lord and His goodness. Our ministry serves everyone, regardless of age, demographic or gender.
We schedule community events and attempts are made to cover all age groups. Having representation at our events from the church is a huge part of what makes our program successful.
We accomplish our goals through fundraising and donations which are used to sponsor our events.
We meet on the first Saturday of the month, at the Apostolic Church. We are always interested in new ways to perform outreach to our community.
Safe Harbor serves those who are in need of food, clothes and/or personal hygiene items regardless of age, demographic or gender. We offer a hand up, not a hand out, and provide services with a caring heart.
Free food, clothes and personal hygiene items are distributed out of our facility located in downtown Pontiac at 45 N. Saginaw St. Pontiac, MI 48342. This location is open Thursdays from 11am-4pm and the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as needed.
Individuals who are in need can call (248) 838-9089 to make an appointment.
Volunteers from the congregation who can assist us in carrying out this important work are always needed and most welcome.
Our long term goal is to have a larger building so we can help more people.
Community Programs Inc.
This ministry serves adult women, ages 18 and older. This ministry brings the Word of God to women who are in a substance abuse program. The women we serve have been incarcerated by the court system and we bring church to them on a weekly basis. A participant will benefit by sharing their personal testimony, as this is a “give back” program. Volunteers must be willing to share their life with these ladies. We use scripture and real life application.
The goal of this ministry is to encourage women and let them know that God has not left them or forgotten about them due to mistakes they have made.
We connect with these women on a personal level and encourage them with the Word of God. We encourage the women to have a relationship with the Lord and to join a church than can provide support to them.
We meet every Sunday at 1255 N. Oakland Waterford MI from 2:00-3:00.
This ministry serves adult men, ages 18 and older. This ministry brings the Word of God to men who are in a substance abuse program. The men we serve have been incarcerated by the court system and we bring church to them on a weekly basis. This is an outreach program helping to establish a spiritual connection in the community.
Our goal is to someday expand this ministry by adding classes during the week and increasing the number of volunteers we currently have.
We meet for Bible Study each Sunday from 2:00 -3:00 at 1435 N. Oakland Waterford MI.
